Hot Sale Gabions /Galvanized Gabion Box Supplier /Hexagonal Gabion Wire Mesh
Gabions are rectangular cages made of hexagonal double-twist wire mesh filled with appropriately sized rock or quarry stone. Gabions are used in many situations including the stabilization of earth movement and erosion, river control, reservoirs, canal refurbishment, landscaping and retaining walls.Gabions are compartmentalized rectangular containers of galvanized steel hexagonal wire mesh that are filled with stone. While maintaining sufficient strength to contain the stone used as a fill, gabions must be able to settle, twist, and conform to channel and foundation shifts.
Gabion BOX is a rectangular wire mesh box made from double twisted hexagonal mesh of steel wire, additionally reinforced by selvedge of heavier wire running along the edges and by transverse diaphragms. These mesh boxes are delivered to site flat-packed, whereupon they are assembled, lifted into position, and filled with durable rock. The modular nature of the gabion means that it can be used in a vast array of applications and configurations.
A gabion is a cage, cylinder, or box filled with rocks, concrete, or sometimes sand and soil for use in civil engineering, road building applications and landscaping. For erosion control, caged riprap is used. For dams or in foundation construction, cylindrical metal structures are used. In a context, earth or sand-filled gabions are used to protect sappers, infantry, and artillerymen from enemy fire.
1. Material
It is made from high grade Low Carbon steel iron wire, heavy zinc coated wire, PVC coated wire though twisting and braiding by machine. as well as galfan coated units. Galfan is a high performance galvanize process using a zinc/aluminium/ mischmetal alloy coating. This offers significantly greater protection than traditional zinc galvanizing. Where the product is exposed to water courses or a saline environment, we strongly recommends a polymer coated galvanized unit for improved design life.
The material classification
Galvanized steel wire: High quality low carbon steel wire, steel wire of 2.0 MM to 4.0 MM in diameter, the tensile strength of steel wire shall not be less than 380 mpa, hot galvanizing protection on the surface of the steel wire, galvanized the thickness of the protective layer of production according to customer requirements, up to a maximum of 300 g/m2 galvanized quantity.
Aluminum zinc - 5% - mixed rare earth alloy wire: (also called gore van) wire, this is a kind of international emerging a new a new material, corrosion resistance is three times bigger than the traditional pure galvanized, steel wire diameter of 1.0 MM to 3.0 MM, the tensile strength of steel wire shall not be less than 1380 mpa.

Advantages of Gabions mesh
Environmentally acceptable - the use of local rock and soils for backfill is encouraged, with the subsequent growth of vegetative cover
Flexible - gabions are able to settle and move without failure, even on unstable soils
Economical - suitable stone is normally found on site or from a nearby quarry
The gabion basket has a high compressive resistance (rock) and tensile (mesh) strength
The gabion baskets allow the free passage of water through the structure, and weep holes are unnecessary
Vegetation can be incorporated within or over the gabion structures to blend in with the local environment
The integrity of a local ecosystem within a river is unaffected by gabions as they allow the free flow of water and growth of plants through their structure
With time the integrity and strength of gabion river protection is enhanced with the subsequent growth of plants and their root systems penetrating the porous gabion structure
