A588 Weathering Steel is a high-strength, low-alloy steel with atmospheric corrosion resistance commonly used in bridges and buildings. The “A588” name comes from ASTM standards. It has strong tensile strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability, ideal for outdoor sculptures, bridges, and structures. Similar grades include S355J0W, A242Gr.1.

Made from approximately 0.4% copper, 0.4-0.7% chromium, 0.15-0.5% silicon, 0.2-0.5% nickel, and other elements, it resists weathering by forming a protective rust layer.
